Interventional Radiology
WHAT IS AN INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST?
Interventional radiologists are specially trained doctors who use x-rays and other imaging techniques to see inside the body. They guide narrow tubes (catheters) and other small instruments through blood vessels and other pathways of the body. This can be used to treat a variety of medical disorders without the need of a large opening for surgery. In general, the procedures performed by interventional radiologists are often less costly and less traumatic to the patient. They involve smaller incisions, less pain, and shorter hospital stays than conventional surgery. Also within this section are some of the common procedures done by interventional radiologists at Cascade Radiology.
Cascade provides a full array of interventional services, including arteriograms for diabetic patients, dialysis access and maintenance for renal patients, and UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization) for women with fibroids.
Our experienced team can offer thorough biopsies of breast, lung, liver, in addition to other biopsies including mediastinal, abdominal, and pelvic solid organ tumors for better diagnosis.
