NON-CONTRAST STUDIES


A digital x-ray is like a conventional x-ray in that the part of the body to be examined is exposed to x-ray and an image is obtained and analyzed by a radiologist. With digital imaging the body part to be examined is positioned between an X-ray tube and a special imaging detector instead of special x-ray film that is used in conventional x-ray. The digital imaging detector is then “read” by a laser reader and the obtained image is sent to a computer screen that the radiologist views for diagnostic interpretation. Read more...

How to prepare for exam:

• Remove keys from pockets, metallic objects including pens and jewelry

• Remove bra during examination

Note: this exam will require an IV injection of contrast

Early morning appointment
